A 3-day community-based planning workshop was delivered in February 2016, to enhance the vulnerable villages of Wom 1&2 and adjacent communities capacity to develop and contribute ideas to improving their livelihood in adapting to the changes in climate and the existing environment threats they currently face.
Building on the local people’s capacity they identified the best ways where people can implement development strategies to better their food supply and livelihood. An integral part of the workshop was to create local ownership, include women and youth, and introduce sustainable ideas in order to maintain the project long term.
Fostering people’s awareness assists people to think as to how they will adapt and adjust to the rising river waters which are affecting their lives. Together we developed the villager’s full SGP proposal.
